Description

"Election Year Implications for the Insurance Industry?"

_______________________________________________________________

Come join us on May 19 when Karen Valanzano, Senior Vice President, Federal Government Affairs, for Chubb, will assess the election year implications for the insurance Industry.

What are the current trends regarding the elections, political engagement, and legislation impacting the insurance industry? We'll examine the likely scenarios for the 2016 presidential and congressional elections and how the insurance industry will be impacted.

Karen Valenzano is currently the Senior Vice President of Federal Government Affairs for Chubb. Karen is a registered lobbyist in Washington, D.C. and is part of the lobbying team responsible for domestic legislative issues before the United States Congress and the Administration. In addition to her advocacy role on behalf of Chubb, Karen is also the Executive Director and Treasurer of Chubb's Political Action Committee.

Karen advocates for Chubb's interests on key legislative issues, including: terrorism risk insurance, insurance regulatory reform, reinsurance tax issues, crop insurance and litigation reform efforts.

Prior to joining Chubb (formerly ACE Group) in 2002, Karen spent eight years at the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) where she held several positions, including Director of Federal Government Relations; Executive Director and Treasurer of ARDA's Political Action Committee; Director of Communications; as well as the Director of ARDA's International Research Foundation.

Karen also worked for the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) during two election cycles where she was part of the finance team assisting various U.S. Senate candidates around the country.
